This latest petrol price hike comes at a time when people were expecting relief in fuel costs. Instead, the government has increased petroleum prices significantly due to changes in global oil markets, exchange rates, and petroleum levy adjustments.
The increase in diesel prices is especially significant because HSD directly affects transport, agriculture, and heavy commercial vehicles. As a result, inflation and commodity prices may also rise in the coming days.

Why No Change (Latest Fuel Prices)?
Officials say global oil prices are not stable. Also, the exchange rate is under pressure. As a result, they decided to maintain steady prices.
However, people are not happy. Fuel costs affect everything. When prices remain high, daily life becomes more challenging.
Abdul Rehman, a taxi driver in Rawalpindi, shared his frustration. “We thought petrol would be cheaper. It’s hard to manage now.”
What’s Next?
The following price review is in two weeks. Until then, prices will not change. People still hope for a cut soon. It all depends on the global oil market and the value of the rupee.
For now, the wait continues. The relief hasn’t arrived, but maybe it’s still on the way.
